New Poetry

    November Light

Late November morning light pierces

through tumultuous clouds.

A dusting of snow hugs green grass.

Seasons transitioned effortlessly before

cruelty from human hands and mind.

May the earth forgive us. We can only ask.

We’re still mourning plastic bags.

We do know this earth is a tapestry. Home

to icebergs reflecting on periwinkle seas.

Home to hummingbirds, elephants, fields of lemongrass.

Many species of animals & plants divorced this earth.

Only grace can wed us to new growth. Have mercy

When your fingers touch lilies in soil. Dream a dream

of delicate ecosystems because we care.
